Backup policy

Last updated 1 July 2026

A backup you have never restored is a hope, not a guarantee. This policy explains how we back up your data and — crucially — how we verify it actually works.

What we back up

For managed environments, we back up the data and configuration needed to recover your service — servers, databases and key application data — on a schedule agreed with you.

Encryption & retention

Backups are encrypted at rest. Retention is set to match your risk and any compliance requirements, balancing recoverability against cost, and is reviewed with you.

Tested restores

We test restores on a schedule and report the results. This is non-negotiable: it is the only thing that turns a backup into a reliable recovery. A backup we have not restored is not a backup we trust.

Disaster recovery

For services that need more than data recovery, our disaster recovery service adds designed, tested failover with defined recovery targets.
